Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Low Voltage Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems, including security systems, fire alarms, and CCTV surveillance. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical codes and safety standards, as well as proficiency in using power tools and field service techniques.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain low voltage systems, including fire alarms, cameras, access control, and security systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and testing of installed systems to ensure functionality and compliance with industry standards.
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning equipment in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions for surveillance and security requirements.
- Adhere to the National Electrical Code (NEC) during all installations and repairs.
- Utilize power tools effectively to build and install system components securely.
- Document all work performed, including system configurations and maintenance procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients regarding system operations and maintenance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or similar role in the field of security or surveillance systems.
- Familiarity fire alarm systems, CCTV installation, and general low voltage wiring practices.
- Strong understanding of NEC regulations related to low voltage installations.
- Proficient in the use of power tools and hand tools necessary for installation tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to detect issues quickly and implement effective solutions.
- Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various environments.
- Valid driver's license may be required for travel to job sites.
