The Fire Sprinkler Field Project Manager coordinates directly with the Director of Field Operations and is responsible to ensure the efficient installation of fire sprinkler systems that meet the following criteria:
1) meet the relevant requirements of Local, State and/or Federal fire codes,
2) comply with detailed design and also meet criteria 1,
3) adhere to Contractor schedules as may be updated from time to time.
The Fire Sprinkler Field Project Manager will be the company’s representative at Contractor meetings related to the jobs under the Fire Sprinkler Field Project Manager’s supervision, including by not limited to scheduling/planning meetings and may be attended in person or remotely as allowed by the Contractor’s agreement. The Fire Sprinkler Field Project Manager will provide site supervision over multiple projects, interact regularly with Installation team, Foremen as well as GC / Owner representatives.
The Fire Sprinkler Field Project Manager will ensure that all drawings, permits, labor, materials, equipment, tools and the like, that are the Company’s responsibility to provide a job site, are available as required by the relevant Contractor Agreement. The FPM will engage the Company’s Material Expediter and others as needed to fulfill this requirement.
At the start of each assigned project the Fire Sprinkler Field Project Manager will meet at the site with the Company’s crews/sub-contractors and review drawings, plans, contractor schedules, site layout etc. to determine how best to execute the work. The Fire Sprinkler Field Project Manager will physically attend the assigned projects to ensure projects are progressing to plan.
The Fire Sprinkler Field Project Manager will ensure that required Tests/Inspections are appropriately scheduled and that they either attend those inspections or have made arrangements with another qualified Company representative attend. In cases where inspections are failed the Fire Sprinkler Field Project Manager will ensure that the required remedial actions are undertaken in a timely manner.
The Fire Sprinkler Field Project Manager will ensure all required documentation to close out the job has been obtained/provided to relevant parties.
The Fire Sprinkler Field Project Manager, while exercising sound business judgement, will request the assistance of other company staff, as needed, to ensure that projects issues are resolved in an appropriate and timely manner.
The Fire Sprinkler Field Project Manager will provide regular updates on job progress to the Director of Field Operations to assist in the overall organization and allocation of company resources in an efficient and effective manner with the goal of minimizing rework and satisfying contractor schedules. At least weekly the Fire Sprinkler Field Project Manager will provide the Director of Field Operations with a written summary of progress on each job, including issues that have arisen and how they have been resolved.
Ideal candidate will be able to troubleshoot opportunities in the field while having a high profile coordination with corporate personnel requiring strong communication skills and be a problem solver.
Experience working within Residential and Commercial construction settings installing plastic and steel pipe with additional experiences with System layout, stand pipe, fire pump and general plan/design interpretation.
