LOCATION: Al-Udeid Air Base, Qatar

COMPENSATION: $108,000

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for operation, maintenance and repair of all fire suppression systems to include ANSUL wet chemical systems, backflow prevention, fire hydrant flow testing and marking per NFPA standards base wide. The qualified candidate shall report to the Fire Alarm Technician Lead and work with a team of Fire Alarm Technicians, Mass Notification Technicians and Fire Suppression Technicians.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Complete effective and efficient inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, programming, and upkeep of the fire suppression systems in accordance with UFC and NFPA standards.
  • Perform a one-time initial inspection, inventory, and test of all fire suppression systems and provide initial status report within 14 calendar days of FOC.
  • Inspect, maintain, repair, certify and re-certify all “ANSUL” fire suppression systems (base-wide) according to the requirements contained in UFC 3-601-02, paragraph 2-2.15, and NFPA Standard 17A, Chapter 7.
  • Coordinate the maintenance and repair of all fire suppression systems with the on-site customer per the performance work statement.
  • Prepare and submit written reports after the completion of all inspections, maintenance, repairs, tests, and certifications of each system and implement a preventative maintenance plan using automated base systems.
  • Provide quarterly training in fire suppression systems to Air Force personnel.
  • Request parts through government established processes; follow-up, receive, and install parts.
  • Follow a comprehensive quality and safety program in compliance with OSHA and United States Air Force (USAF) requirements.
  • Follow a comprehensive, flexible, and properly documented training program.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter and trash in all working facilities and areas.
  • Properly use and safeguarding all government and contractor provided property (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment and tools).
  • Responsible for precise execution of company time reporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheet.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Shall be a maintenance journeyman or master technician in Fire Suppression with at least five years of experience in the inspection, testing and maintenance of fire suppression systems.
  • Shall be proficient in the Unified Facilities Criteria and National Fire Alarm Code.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have one of the four qualifications:
    • Factory trained & certified with TycoFire Fire Ex UK, ANSUL
    • Nationally recognized fire system organization
    • Registered, licensed, or certified by a state or local authority
    • Employed & qualified by an organization listed by a nationally recognized testing laboratory for the servicing of fire suppression systems
  • Current and valid US Passport and Driver’s License.
  • Valid US Secret Security Clearance prior to deployment.
  • Pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, and background checks.
  • Successfully complete online & hands-on CBRN (chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear) defense training.

SKILLS:

  • Be proficient with Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point
  • Fluent in English with good verbal, reading, and writing skills.
  • Military experience in a contingency environment and knowledge and experience working with government contracts preferred.
