The Assistant Regional Practice Leader (ARPL) for Telgian Engineering and Consulting (TEC) reports to the Regional Practice Leader (RPL) and manages the regional team on a day-to-day basis, ensuring TEC’s commitments are made to our clients while also supporting our team members.

 

The primary responsibilities of the role are monitoring proper quality control, project management oversite, business development, teamwork and client interface. The ARPL completes and oversees completion of fire protection engineering & consultation services, support, and deliverables for Telgian clients as part of multi-discipline team. They work with assigned staff to provide fire protection guidance to clients based on applicable codes and standards, as well as performance-based designs through reports, design concepts, or project packages detailing fire prevention, life safety and protection issues. The ARPL develops and assists with the delivery of technical and programmatic presentations to clients, including coordination and facilitation of meetings; collaboration with other personnel, including engineering, financial, real estate, and facilities, to meet client requirements.

  • Leadership of a team of talented Engineering, Consulting and Design staff.
  • Ensuring a consistent standard of customer service. Resolving customer issues to their overall satisfaction.
  • Maintaining an overall management style that follows company best practices. Providing leadership and direction to all assigned employees.
  • Ensuring product quality and timeliness. Assisting clients whenever necessary.
  • Participate in employee scheduling as well as performing associate reviews.
  • Motivating employees and ensuring a focus on the mission. Taking disciplinary action when necessary. Ensuring that health, safety, and security rules are followed.
  • Completing tasks assigned by the RPL accurately and efficiently.
  • Mentoring design and engineering staff and ensuring career development.
  • Assisting in business development efforts. Assisting in budgeting and revenue tracking.

 

Your Qualifications

  • 5+ years of working experience in the Architecture/Engineering field required;
  • 4 year college degree – Architecture/Engineering a plus;
  • 5+ years of sales experience preferred;
  • 5+ years of management experience preferred;
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certified or willing to obtain, preferred;
  • Fire protection related NICET certification a plus;
  • Certified Fire Protection Specialist preferred
